ONE CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THE SEA» presents the life and work of great seascape artist Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky (1817-1899), whose works adorn the most famous museums in the world and continue to win the hearts of people on all continents. The artist had a phenomenal ability to convey the element of water in its various guises. His magical canvases brought to life the glare of the Venetian canals, the crystal splash of Niagara falls, angry waves of the Black sea and the primeval Ocean at the creation of the world. Secrets of skill and the essence of the artist's personality help understand Aivazovsky’s memories that sound in the film. The fate of a huge collection of his works was under threat during the WW2. But here Providence helped again. |
